Many gardeners do not know how to properly process a polycarbonate greenhouse in the fall. But in order to achieve a good result, you need to make some efforts. In the article you will learn how processing occurs, when and why.

Why do you need to process a greenhouse

In order for the greenhouse to serve the owner as many years as possible, he should try to create all the necessary conditions for her for long-term service. Of course, over time, he will see how fertile his work is, but in the beginning it is most difficult to care for her. Therefore, "newcomers" should take work seriously. But the result will be a large harvest in the future. One of the most important things in caring for a greenhouse is its treatment until winter. Processing a polycarbonate greenhouse in the fall is much simpler than processing other greenhouses, so its owners may not be particularly worried. However, the list of work to be done is still large.

When to start processing a greenhouse

Experts recommend starting to cultivate the land immediately after harvesting. The very first thing you need to do: rid the beds of various materials, products, garter objects, wires and accessories. That is, the greenhouse needs to be completely emptied (trellises, racks, shovels, forks, other implements and carts must also be removed from there to be subjected to thorough disinfection).

If polycarbonate can be removed in your greenhouse, be sure to do it because a lot of harmful microorganisms are often collected on it too.

Particular attention should be paid to preparing the soil for cultivation. It must be completely cleaned of the remaining plants (including young stems, tops, roots and seeds caught on the ground). If the plants you grow up suffer from some kind of disease, then they need to be destroyed. If among them there is a surviving, healthy vegetation, it can be added to the compost (in no case throw sick plants there). But in this case, this compost cannot be used as fertilizer for the plants from which it is made.

How to disinfect auxiliary agents, and whether it is necessary at all

Disinfection of equipment and other items that are used when working in the greenhouse is required! They often contain a large number of harmful microorganisms, which will serve as a good environment for the rapid reproduction of harmful mushroom-shaped and other malignant organisms.

When disinfecting, you need to use effective solutions or mixtures, such as Fitosporin or a mixture of potassium permanganate (the mixture can be recognized by its characteristic bard shade). All that needs to be disinfected must be placed in a liquid mixture for fifty to seventy minutes. After the time has elapsed, it is necessary to wash everything under running water, and after drying, remove it to a quiet place where it will lie clean and unused until the next use.

Processing greenhouses from late blight

Soil preparation and care during cultivation

Gardeners and gardeners, who have extensive experience in this matter, advise you to remove all the land from the greenhouse and remove it to a specific place, also prepared in advance for this.

The soil must be folded up to two hundred millimeters thick.

The result of the work done will surprise even more if you fill the ground with bleach. Now all this needs to be dug up and left for the whole winter so that the soil freezes. If you plan to use new soil in the future, then you can use this land later as fertilizer for the garden, scattering it a little throughout the territory.

However, not everyone can afford the complete replacement of the soil (maybe there is no place where you need to store it all winter). Do not worry, you just need to arrange fertilizing for the earth, disinfecting and wellness procedures. After cleaning it from plants, it will be necessary to arrange the beds with sprinkling with bleach, spending about one hundred grams of lime per square meter. Then the soil should be dug up.

What to do with a greenhouse infected with infections

If the room is heavily infected with harmful organisms (this happens if the plants in it were infected several times during the year with infectious microbes or by the infestation of harmful insects), it must be thoroughly treated with a two- or three-percent formalin solution. This etching method is considered quite dangerous, but its effectiveness against infections justifies the risk. Thanks to formalin, you can get rid of not only all insects, but also their larvae and eggs.

Do not forget about the chemical harmfulness of the product and be sure to purchase gloves and a respirator before use. The formalin solution must be poured into the pulverizer and scour the following proportion: one liter per square meter of beds.

After finishing the land, lock the greenhouse for several days (from five to ten). So, the tool will work even better, relieve all harmful microorganisms and unfortunate insects.

After this, the room must be ventilated, the earth should be top-dressed, and work should be done to improve its shape and quality:

  • powdery ash;
  • sprinkle with various fertilizers (the type depends on the agronomic culture);
  • completely cover the soil with a liquid mixture with potassium permanganate;
  • scatter dry sand in the beds, you can use egg shells, animal excrement, compost, sawdust, dry leaves (it will be necessary to bury them under the soil) as fertilizer.

Is fumigation necessary

If you want to complete the processing, then all of the above will not be enough. To process the greenhouse completely and do it in good faith, you need to do fumigation. The most effective remedy for this sulfur.

Before fumigating the room, it is recommended (to achieve a greater result) to completely isolate it, that is, it is better to close the doors, windows and even small holes. Wash the entire greenhouse with water. When fumigating, you need to be in a gas mask.

How to fumigate a room with cuttings of sulfur

One cubic meter of a greenhouse needs nine hundred grams of cuttings of sulfur. After mixing the necessary number of components, you need to add coal to them (it is better to use wood), then grind everything.

Cover the baking sheets with the resulting mass and send them to a deep bowl, fill it halfway with water. Now you need to place this dish throughout the greenhouse and light sulfur.

Greenhouse cultivation in the fall without soil replacement

When processing, you need to follow the rules and advice of people who are knowledgeable in this matter. Trying to skip a point to speed up the process is wrong. What your harvest at the beginning of the next depends on your labor at the end of this autumn.
